This Sunday, October 22, will witness thousands of runners from all over the world take to the start line in the capital of Spain for the Valencia Half Marathon with the hope of bagging the top prize.
Millions have been set aside for the top 10 athletes who cross the finish line and fast times will also be rewarded.
For the first male athlete who crosses the finish line and clocks under 58:30, they will be awarded approximately Ksh 5 million. For the female athlete who clocks under 65:00, they will also walk away with approximately Ksh 5 million.
In the case that the first athlete, both male and female, finish in that time bracket, the second athlete will have the honour of walking away with approximately Ksh 3 million while the third and fourth athletes will pocket approximately Ksh 2 million and one million.
The athletes who finish sixth, seventh, and eighth will bag Ksh 950,055, Ksh 791,713, and Ksh 633,370. The ninth and 10th athletes will pocket Ksh 316,640 and Ksh 237,479 respectively.
In case the first athletes cross the finish line and clock between 58:30 and 59:59 (men) or 65:01 and 66:29 (women), they will each pocket approximately Ksh 3 million. The second, third, and fourth-place finishers will walk away with approximately Ksh 2 million, Ksh 1 million, and Ksh 900, 000.
The athletes who finish fifth, sixth, and seventh will bag Ksh 475,347, Ksh 316,877, and Ksh 237,658 respectively. The eighth, ninth, and 10th place finishers will pocket Ksh 190,126, Ksh 174,282, and Ksh 158,438.
In the case where the first athlete will cross the line in 1:00:00 (men) or 1:06:30 (women) or more, they will both walk away with Ksh 2,216,325
The athletes who finish second, third, fourth and fifth will pocket Ksh 1,266,471, Ksh 791,545, Ksh 474,926 and Ksh 316,483. The athletes who finish sixth, seventh and eighth will be awarded Ksh 237,362, Ksh 158,241 and Ksh 126,593.
The athletes who finish ninth 10th will also be awarded as they will walk away with Ksh 110,780 and Ksh 94,952 respectively.
