Nairobi, Kenya, 4 November 2026 – Bolt, the leading on demand mobility platform has been named among Kenya’s Top 10 strongest brands in the 2026 Superbrands ranking, securing eighth position nationally and reinforcing its standing as one of the country’s leading brands in the travel, transport and ride-hailing category.

The recognition places Bolt among an exclusive group of established local and international brands recognised for their quality, reliability and distinction, following an independent consumer research exercise conducted by global market research firm Kantar.

In the 2026 ranking, Bolt recorded a Superbrands score of 88.786, with consumers awarding the platform 9.08 for quality, 9.14 for distinction and 8.79 for reliability. The brand also recorded an awareness score of 78%.

The ranking comes against a backdrop of growing consumer emphasis on trust and reputation when making purchasing decisions. Research released alongside the rankings by Superbrands East Africa found that 86% of surveyed Kenyan consumers are likely to purchase products or services carrying the Superbrands seal, while 84% said the recognition would increase their trust in a brand. A further 85% said it would encourage them to consider buying a product or trying a new service.

Jawad Jaffer, Project Director and Associate Publisher, Superbrands East Africa said: “Kenyan consumers have many brands to choose from, but what ultimately matters is whether a brand delivers on its promises. The findings show that quality, reliability, and distinction remain at the centre of purchasing decisions. For businesses, this is a reminder that consumer trust must be earned consistently through brand building, not simply through advertising,” said

Commenting on the recognition, Dimmy Kanyankole, Senior General Manager, Rides East Africa said: “Being named among Kenya’s Top 10 strongest brands is a significant milestone for Bolt and a reflection of the trust customers have placed in our platform. We recognise that a strong brand is built through more than visibility; it is earned through the experiences we deliver every day. This recognition reinforces our commitment to providing reliable, quality services while continuously improving how we serve riders and support the driver and courier partners who make our platform possible.”

The 2026 Superbrands study assessed brands across 112 categories, with consumers evaluating familiar brands against three key attributes: quality, reliability and distinction. These measures assess whether a brand delivers quality products and services, performs consistently and stands out from competitors.

According to Keith Pere and Wetindi Patrick, Project Leads at Kantar Insights EA, brands that perform strongly are those that meet consumers’ functional and emotional needs while offering something meaningfully different from competitors.

Jaffer added: “What makes Superbrands recognition meaningful is that it reflects the experiences and perceptions of consumers themselves. A strong brand is not simply one that people recognise, but one that has earned their trust. Superbrands recognition acknowledges the reputation businesses have built in the minds of consumers, and the importance of continually earning and maintaining that confidence.”

The research also highlights the growing influence of brand reputation on consumer choices. While 81% of respondents believe the Superbrands seal helps brands stand out from competitors, an equal proportion said it helps them identify leading brands within their respective categories. However, consumers remain conscious of value, with 63% indicating they would consider paying a higher price for a brand carrying the seal.

Consumer willingness to recommend brands carrying the Superbrands seal has also improved, with the Net Promoter Score increasing from 10 in 2024 to 31 in 2026.

The findings underscore the importance of building brands through consistent customer experiences, service quality and reliability, rather than relying solely on advertising and promotional campaigns.

Bolt’s inclusion in the Top 10 reflects its position in a competitive market and the importance of continually earning consumer confidence through the services and experiences it delivers.
