Tafadhali Mnioe: Mali Safi Chito Now Says No Kenyan Is Willing to Marry Her

Milicent Jerotich, widely recognized as Marakwet Daughter, has rapidly become a household name thanks to the enchanting melodies of her hit song “Mali Safi Chito,” which has taken social media by storm.

Despite her rising fame, the Kenyan Kalenjin singer recently made headlines not just for her musical talents but also for candidly addressing her personal life and relationship status.

In a revealing interview with vloggers, Marakwet Daughter clarified that she is currently not in any relationship, dismissing speculations despite her social media posts featuring different men.

“Having a man is not a bad thing, but I think for now, I have not yet gone to church. As you can see, I do not have a ring. I am still in the market. Get me out. But don’t come without a plan. Or you’ll know that you don’t know. I am still in the market like dates,”

Jepkorir’s  left her marriage at the age of 21 after facing severa difficuties that forced her to return to her parents.

In an interview with VJ Mastermind, the singer opened up about her relationship life and the suffering she underwent in her early marriage.

She claimed that she got marriage aged 16 while trying to escape poverty that had hit her family

“I didn’t go to high school. I got married at 16 years old. Then, things were so rough that it made me prefer the life I had at home to the one I was having in my house. Then I left him when I was 21. I went through a lot. I was so blessed that anything I touched would flourish, but family conflict erupted in my ex-husband’s family. I went through many things. I was beaten and at some point I got depressed. I couldn’t sleep. I went to the hospital,” she said in the interview.

Jepkorir said that she underwent treatment and healed after some time.

She decided to focus on her music career and pursue her dreams.
