Sofapaka parade new signings ahead of the 2023-24 season

2009 FKF Premier League champions Sofapaka FC on Wednesday 2 August 2023 unveiled their arsenals expected to attack the 2023-24 season.

Among the new faces making the team, which will be composed of 31 players will be some familiar faces in the Kenyan side, among them Burundian striker Fiston Abdul Razak who returns to the club eight years and defender Mousa Omar, who will be linking up with the team.

Some other names switching ranks from their previous FKF Premier League clubs will include: the duo of Daniel Otieno and Khalid Jumaan from Mathare United, Ian Simiyu from Nzoia Sugar FC, Darius Msagha from Bandari FC, and John Ndirangu, who was recently with Kenya Police FC last season.

As part of the coaching staff, will be the figure of Christian Francis Haringingo, the new Sofapaka FC head coach, who will be joining the team coming off a single season with Rwandese side Rayon Sports FC.

The Burundian, who led Rayon to the Rwanda Peace Cup over APR in June, will replace outgoing head coach David Ouma, who was on Monday confirmed to have taken over the reins as the club’s new Sporting Director.

At Sofapaka, Haringingo, who will work with assistant head coach Pablo Nduwimana, will be tasked to elevate the levels of a team that finished tenth last season, and with 42 points from 34 matches.

In between the sticks, will be the addition of Jacob Osano from Nairobi City Stars, with Stephen Otieno acting as the third keeper, behind Simon Masaka who will still be part of the side.

The other notable names joining will include: Oliver Maloba (City Stars), Andre Kalama and Christian Lubulu (Kibera Black Stars), Answar Shamuni, Baron Ochieng, and Brankline Masibo.

In the 2021-2022 season, the team finished eighth with 46 points.
