The Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL) is set to see several exciting matches this week, with Gor Mahia, Kariobangi Sharks, Mathare United, Vihiga Bullets, and Bidco United all facing off against each other.

If Gor Mahia beats Wazito at Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani, they will move to the top of the league standings with 33 points from 14 matches.

Currently, Nzoia Sugar holds the top position with 31 points from 15 matches, but Gor Mahia could surpass them with a win. However, a draw would see Nzoia Sugar maintain their position as the league leaders due to their higher goal difference. Wazito, who are currently 16th on the log with 9 points from 12 games, will be led by their assistant coach and goalkeeping coach in the absence of their head coach who was recently unveiled as the assistant coach of Kakamega Homeboyz.

In the “Slum” Derby, Kariobangi Sharks will host Mathare United. Mathare United will be hoping to make it three wins in a row after winning their second match of the season last weekend. However, they have not beaten Sharks in the past three matches. Sharks are currently 12th on the league table with 16 points from 14 matches, while Mathare are 17th with 7 points from 12 ties.

Vihiga Bullets, who are currently bottom of the league with 4 points from 12 encounters, will take on struggling Bidco United. Vihiga Bullets will be under pressure to impress their new financier, Makadara MP George Aladwa, who has promised to help them avoid the axe at the end of the season. Bidco United have not won in their last four matches and are 13th on the league table with 16 points from 14 matches.
