Sifa Investments Ltd: Multimillion Company Behind the Transportation of Viral Mammoth Cargo from Mombasa to Malaba

For over three weeks, Kenyans have been captivated by the journey of a massive cargo-laden lorry traversing the roads from Mombasa to Malaba.

The spectacle of a boat being transported on land from Kenya to Uganda has left many in awe, with social media buzzing as Kenyans followed the journey religiously, demanding daily updates from their Ugandan counterparts.

At the helm of this remarkable transportation feat is Sifa Investments Ltd, a prominent player in the regional transportation sector.

Specializing in the movement of bulk oils, petroleum products, general cargo, and heavy machinery, Sifa Investments Ltd has established itself as a reliable and efficient logistics partner in East Africa.

Founded over three decades ago, Sifa Investments Ltd initially operated under the name AK Abdulgani Transporters before undergoing a rebranding in 2008.

Since then, the company has grown exponentially, boasting a fleet of over 50 trucks, complemented by 20 three and four-axle loaders, and three extensible semi-trailers.

This formidable fleet enables Sifa to handle a diverse range of cargo, including oversized loads weighing up to 75 metric tonnes.

In addition to its core transportation services, Sifa Investments Ltd also offers clearing and forwarding solutions through its sister company, East Global Logistics (K) Limited.

This subsidiary, licensed by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), handles both local and transit cargo, further enhancing Sifa’s end-to-end logistics capabilities.

Notably, Sifa Investments Ltd holds a Transit bond of $2 million (KSh 288.4 million), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and instilling confidence in its clients.

Registered with the Kenya International Freight Forwarders Association, the company facilitates seamless cargo clearance for destinations across Uganda, Rwanda, and North Eastern Congo.
