Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga has responded to the recent flurry of transfer rumors, with English Premier League side Everton.
The Kenyan goal-scoring maestro has enjoyed a successful stint in Asia, securing titles in both Japan and Qatar.
As his contract with Al Duhail in Qatar nears its end, Olunga has attracted interest from several clubs, thanks to his remarkable goal returns in the All Stars League and other tournaments in the Middle East.
When questioned about the ongoing speculation, Olunga remained tight-lipped about the specific offers on the table.
“I can’t say so much at the moment. I think it’s time for me to focus on the national team duties ahead of us and relax following the tough season I have had in Qatar. It was fantastic for me winning three top scorer’s awards in different competitions,” said the former Gor Mahia man.
However, the humble forward refrained from delving into the behind-the-scenes negotiations between clubs and management, recognizing that such matters are beyond his control.
”I feel amazing, I feel I did a great job. Normally, I don’t like to speculate on some things, for I can control what is within my jurisdiction which is playing football. Whatever happens behind the scenes between the clubs and management is beyond my control,” he added.
The 27-year-old striker, known for his exceptional athleticism, technical skills, and clinical finishing, enjoyed a successful spell with Kenyan club Gor Mahia before venturing overseas.
His achievements in Asia have further solidified his reputation as a formidable goal poacher, and it comes as no surprise that top European clubs are monitoring his progress.
