Nzoia’s Salim Babu bullish ahead of Weekend’s ‘Luhya Derby’

Nzoia Sugar FC’s head coach, Salim Babu, is feeling bullish ahead of their upcoming FKF Premier League match against Vihiga Bullets.

The two teams will meet in a highly anticipated “Luhya Derby” contest in Kakamega on Wednesday afternoon.

Nzoia Sugar FC is currently ranked fourth on the league standings, seven points behind the league leaders, Gor Mahia. With just three losses so far this season, Babu is confident that his team’s teamwork and discipline will help them secure a win against Vihiga Bullets.

“For us as a team, finishing in top position is good for us. The boys are ambitious, and ready to push for the League title,” he explained.

“We decided that we won’t struggle this season, we have been handling match by match, we don’t want teams to pick points against us. That is the spirit going to Kakamega tomorrow,” Babu told Citizen Digital.

Babu’s team has been handling matches on a match-by-match basis, with the aim of preventing other teams from picking up points against them. He hopes that this approach will help his team finish in top position and push for the League title.

On the other hand, Vihiga Bullets are at the bottom of the log, with just five points from 20 outings. The team will be looking to redeem themselves after suffering a 5-0 defeat against the league leaders in their last match.

Nzoia Sugar FC’s recent performances have been mixed, with three of their last five matches producing under 2.5 goals.

However, the team has scored five goals in those five matches, with one win, three draws, and one loss.
