DJ Brownskin’s father-in-law has finally spoken out about the viral video showing the last moments of his daughter, Sharon Njeri, also known as Shadodo.
The video, which emerged on social media, has shocked and saddened many Kenyans.
In the video, the father expressed his outrage and disappointment at the way his daughter’s final moments were shared on social media.
“I lost my child last year and you don’t even want me to heal. I am still on the healing journey and I see that video on social media,” he said.
He stated that he was unaware of any marital issues between Sharon and DJ Brownskin until he saw the video.
The father went on to recount how he received the news of his daughter’s death and how he was still healing from the loss.
The father also criticized those who shared the video, calling for justice for his daughter. He stated that it was wrong to allow her to take her own life, even if it was because of love, and then share the video of her dying.
He questioned the prize they hoped to achieve by doing so.
“Yaani yeye anakufa kwa ajili ya mapenzi lakini wewe unachukua video akifa. hiyo ndio ile prize unaeza mpea?”
Loosely translates to: “She is dying because of love but all you can do is take the video of her dying. Is that the prize you can give her?”.
The family’s call for justice has been echoed by many Kenyans on social media, who have also expressed their disgust at the video’s sharing.
