Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua is expected to face charges of irregular procurement after the High Court dismissed his application seeking to block his prosecution over the purchase of 16 vehicles.
On Friday, Justice Isaac Lenaola dismissed Dr Mutua’s application, saying it lacked merit.
The governor had sued to stop his prosecution over the purchase of the Subaru Outbacks for county executive committee members.
He is alleged to have flouted procurement laws when he bought the vehicles.
