Prior to embarking on her journey in content creation, Miss Trudy was involved in low-paying jobs to sustain herself.
In a discussion with Dr. King’ori on the Wicked Edition, she remarked that employment opportunities were limited upon her graduation from university.
The only position she could find at that time was as a brand promoter in a supermarket.
Nevertheless, she expressed that her ultimate aspiration was to become a merchandiser in the future.
“I had planned my life, I knew I was going to do promotions for a while and then I get promoted to be a merchandiser,” she said.
Miss Trudy observed that despite her diligent efforts aimed at securing a promotion, it consistently eluded her grasp.
In the course of her work, she inadvertently sold products to her supervisor, an action that ultimately jeopardized her chances for the promotional opportunity.
“I wasn’t getting promoted for so long. One day, the owner of the company we were working for came into the supermarket. I didn’t know him, and I sold my products with my all. He was so impressed and offered me a promotion
“That Saturday I went to the office and in front of my colleagues, I was fired, although, initially I thought I would be promoted,” Miss Trudy said.
After losing her job, Miss Trudy transitioned into content creation and began producing vlogs for her YouTube channel.
However, she observed that at the outset, she was uncertain about the process and the specific types of content she should focus on.
“I hadn’t figured myself out yet but as time went by, I just started showing my life and doing restaurant reviews. I never even thought of it, I just knew I loved doing it,” Miss Trudy said.

Miss Trudy stated that she had been creating content on YouTube for a year, yet she had not earned any income from it.
“After one year was when I heard that people can make money on YouTube after which I applied for monetization and received Ksh 10,000 as my first earnings,” she recalled.
While she experienced initial happiness, over time, the income generated from YouTube appeared insufficient; nevertheless, she remained resolute in her ambition to achieve greater heights.
“I didn’t see a big future but I loved it and something in me told me to keep going. It’s all about consistency, determination and giving yourself time,” she said.
Driven by her ambition and enthusiasm for her new profession, Miss Trudy achieved a remarkable income of up to Ksh 1 million each month.
Through her YouTube endeavors, she also formed a romantic relationship with Wode Maya, a Ghanaian YouTuber and philanthropist.
She recounted that Maya reached out to her on Instagram, informing her of his plans to travel to Kenya for content creation.
However, by the time she saw his message, three months had already passed since his visit to Kenya.
The two continued their correspondence, and a month later, Maya extended an invitation for her to join him on a trip to Ethiopia.
“Since I started working to that point, I had saved Ksh 40,000 which I used part of it to travel. That’s the best decision that I’ve ever made in my life because he just transformed my life,” she said.
