The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) will pick its presidential candidate at a national delegates convention in January 2017.

The coalition partners will each provide delegates for the joint convention at which the presidential flag will be awarded to one person.

According to the head of the CORD secretariat, Norman Magaya, each of the co-principals has been given until then to popularize their respective parties.

They will be expected to go out and popularize their agenda as well as rally supporters to register as voters and mobilise them to vote.

The new revelations come a few days after ODM chairman John Mbadi said that the party was of the opinion that Raila Odinga was best placed to go up against President Uhuru.
