Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champions, have recently confirmed the signing of a young talent to their u9s development team – Amyen Lucas Onyango, son of former Shujaa star Lucas Onyango.
Onyango senior took to his official Twitter page to express his excitement and pride, stating that his son had worked hard to earn this opportunity at the esteemed Manchester City academy.
“In my life I have never been this proud and this boy has worked hard to get here. The journey begins now has he progresses through the academy. We are all over the moon.” Onyango senior tweeted.
In a video shared by Onyango senior, Onyango junior was introduced to a small crowd at the Etihad Stadium, where he was presented with the opportunity of a lifetime.
The young talent was also photographed alongside his family members, proudly posing with the Premier League trophy that Manchester City won in 2022.
In 2021, another Kenyan, 12-year-old Leo Messo was signed by Arsenal’s academy, was given a tour of the academy set-up and met former Gunners centre-back Per Mertesacker in the process.
