Luo Elders Confounded After Francis Ogolla’s Son Sees His Father’s Nakedness During Burial

Bumula MP Jack Wamboka has stirred controversy by criticizing Joel Rabuku, the son of the late General Francis Ogolla, for his involvement in the burial process.

Wamboka argues that Rabuku committed an egregious act by descending into his father’s grave to assist in the burial, labeling it as something “out of this world.”

In a photograph captured on Sunday, April 21, Rabuku was seen rolling up his sleeves before joining the undertakers in the grave, a sight that Wamboka deemed as unacceptable.

“When an old man like Ogolla dies, his child is not supposed to touch his body. We saw his son going to the grave to receive his body yet he was not inside a coffin. Elders must be sought to carry out rituals. It is unacceptable,” said Wamboka.

The MP went further to assert that Rabuku’s actions amounted to an abomination, suggesting that they contravened traditional customs and required ritualistic cleansing by Luo elders.

According to Wamboka, the unwarranted touching of the deceased’s body, particularly when it hadn’t been placed in a coffin, necessitated the intervention of elders to perform cleansing rituals. Failure to adhere to these customs, he warned, could have detrimental consequences for Rabuku.

Expressing his disapproval, Wamboka criticized Rabuku for attempting to silence those seeking answers regarding the circumstances surrounding his father’s death. As a prominent public figure, Wamboka argued, the late General’s demise warranted scrutiny from the public, and attempts to suppress inquiries were unjustifiable.
