Laikipia University has been shut down indefinitely. According to a circular sent to all students, the university has been shut down together with all its satellite campuses.

According to the university’s senate, the on-going lecturers strike was the reason why the university had been shut down.

The circular also directed all students to vacate the institution indefinitely.

“The university senate has resolved that the university be closed indefinitely as there is no teaching or any other academics activity due to the ongoing university staff strike,” read the circular.
