Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto is set to join the opposition alliance NASA during a rally in Bomet this weekend.
The move by the Governor to join hands with the opposition will further entrench his opposition to Deputy President William Ruto.
Additionally, Newsday Kenya can report that the Bomet rally planned by the opposition strategically aimed at slashing a huge chunk of the region’s votes which are perceived to be in the Jubilee basket.
During the Bomet rally, KANU secretary general Nick Salat is expected to attend in a move signaling that the independence party is slowly gravitating towards the opposition.
Yesterday, Mr. Salat told a local daily that he was firmly behind NASA even as KANU schedules to announce who it will support next week. “For me, I am still adamant, NASA is the way to go,” Salat said.
