Congolese musician Koffi Olomide has been deported to Kinshasa, DRC. The musician was deported aboard flight KQ554 to Kinshasa at 11:30am.

Koffi Olomide had been arrested on Friday after a video captured him kicking one of his female dancers identified as Pamela at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Friday morning.

Koffi was arrested outside Royal Media Services offices along Dennis Pritt Road on Friday evening and taken to JKIA police station where he spend the night in police cells.

On Saturday, the musician’s lawyer, Prof George Wajackoyah, said they had been “treated like animals” and the Kenya government had deported them to Congo “even without their passports.”

Koffi was expected to perform at the Bomas of Keny in a show that was cancelled following protests from Kenyans on social media.
