Harambee Stars and Simba SC defender Joash Onyango is poised to be part of the Simba SC squad that will embark on a pre-season tour to Turkey.

The decision comes amidst recent reports of a purported mutual agreement between Joash Onyango and Simba SC to part ways, fueling speculation about his potential departure.

The former Gor Mahia stalwart has been the subject of intense transfer rumours, but for now, he remains firmly committed to the task at hand with his current team.

The official statement released by Simba SC has laid to rest any doubts regarding Joash Onyango’s involvement in the pre-season camp.

The entire squad, under the guidance of coach Roberto Oliviera’ Robertinho,’ will make their way to Turkey, eagerly seeking to fine-tune their skills and build a formidable team ahead of the upcoming campaign.

“Our team is expected to leave the country any time from now to Turkey for a three-week camp to prepare for the new League season 2023/24,” the club statement noted.

Joash Onyango’s inclusion in the travelling squad has raised eyebrows, as many had anticipated his imminent departure from the Tanzanian giants.

Nonetheless, Simba SC seems determined to keep their star defender onboard, at least for the foreseeable future.

The Msimbazi Reds have chosen Turkey as the destination for their pre-season camp, and the decision to travel to Turkey was made by the technical bench, who believe that the players will benefit from the stability and adhere to the training instructions provided.

The camp will serve as a crucial period for the team to fine-tune their strategies and build cohesiveness ahead of the upcoming season.

During their stay in Turkey, Simba SC is expected to play several friendly matches, allowing the technical bench to assess the players’ performance and evaluate the effectiveness of their training methods.

This opportunity will enable the team to gauge their readiness and make necessary adjustments before returning to Tanzania at the end of the month.

Simba SC has already bid farewell to a number of players, with over ten individuals being released from the squad.

The club management is expected to unveil new signings upon their return from the pre-season camp, reinforcing the team’s roster for the upcoming campaign.

The latest player to be dropped from the squad is Ismael Sawadogo, the talented Burkina Faso international midfielder.
