Jacque Maribe’s Fiance: Emerging reports say that Citizen Tv’s News anchor Jacque Maribe’s fiance has been arrested over the murder of a woman.
Joe Irungu alias Jowie Joe who is suspected to have slit the throat of a 28-year-old woman in her Kilimani apartment in Nairobi is currently being interrogated at the Kilimani Police Station. Police indicated that the man is nursing gunshot wounds after shooting himself in the shoulder.
These shocking news on Jacque Maribe’s fiance were first broken by blogger Robert Alai on his Kahawa Tungu blog.
He is alleged to have admitted himself to hospital after the incident prompting officials to report him. On September 21, Monica Kimani was found in the bathroom with her throat slit at the Luciane Apartments on Kitale Lane off Denis Pritt Road.
Her brother George said that his attempts to reach her via mobile phone had proved futile which is what prompted him to go check on her, only to find her dead. The Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya (FIDA) has since condemned the increasing incidents of murder of young women.
“The brutal murder of Monica Kimani is a clear indication of the high level of insecurity in Kenya,” said FIDA.
