Is Gor Mahia’s star striker Benson Omala in crisis?

Gor Mahia’s coach, Jonathan McKinstry, has addressed concerns about the recent goal drought of young striker Benson Omala.

Despite leading the FKF Premier League scoring charts with an impressive 19 goals, Omala has struggled to find the back of the net in the past three matches, which has raised questions among fans and pundits alike.

However, Coach McKinstry has come to Omala’s defense, stating that the striker’s energy levels and efforts on the field have remained consistent.

McKinstry highlighted that Omala has been getting into good positions and has had several opportunities to score, but has been unlucky in front of goal in recent games.

He cited instances where Omala hit the post or missed narrowly, but maintained that the player is doing everything he wants him to do.

McKinstry also acknowledged that Omala may be under immense pressure, as he has been the main goal scorer for Gor Mahia this season.

In the first half of the season, there were concerns about Omala being the only player scoring, and now the narrative has shifted to him not scoring.

However, McKinstry emphasized that scoring goals is a team effort and that Omala is willing to play a supporting role and assist his teammates as long as the team is winning.

The coach also urged fans not to place undue pressure on Omala and to remember that he is part of a larger team effort.

He emphasized that the most important thing is that Gor Mahia is winning matches, and Omala’s contributions go beyond just scoring goals. McKinstry praised Omala’s work ethic and attitude, and expressed his confidence in the young striker’s abilities to regain his scoring form in due time.
