Reports reaching Newsday Kenya indicate that Ms. faith Gitau has trounced current Nyandarua Women Representative Wanjiku Muhia in a bitter court battle on who will fly the Jubilee flag in Nyandarua.

According to reports, the High Court has ruled that Ms. Gitau was the duly elected Women Representative candidate in the Jubilee nominations that were held in late April.

The court thus nullified the decision by the Political Parties Tribunal that had ordered for the awarding of a certificate to Ms. Muhia.

The awarding of the certificate to Ms. Muhia had sparked a series of protests and demonstrations across Nyandarua County. One person was shot dead during the protests in Magumu, near Fly Over.

During the nominations, Ms. Gitau had beaten Ms. Muhia with over 30,000 votes.
