Gor Sends Shockwaves with signing of Rwandan star

Gor Mahia FC has announced the signing of Rwandan international defender Emery Bayisenge.

The 28-year-old player has been signed on a one-and-a-half-year deal with an option of renewal. Bayisenge is known for his free-kick prowess and one-on-one capabilities and is expected to strengthen Gor Mahia’s defense, which has been a weak point for the club in recent matches.

Bayisenge previously worked with Gor Mahia’s coach, Johnathan McKinstry, during his time as the coach of the Rwanda national team, Amavubi, and also in Bangladesh with Saif Sporting Club.

The defender is a graduate of the Rwanda FA Academy and has a wealth of experience playing at the international level. He was the captain of the Rwanda U17 team that finished second in the U17 Africa Cup of Nations and later participated in the U17 World Cup in Mexico, where he was voted into the team of the tournament.

Described as an energetic player by Rwandan journalist Jean Luc, Bayisenge’s signing is expected to give Gor Mahia a much-needed boost. The club has won the Kenyan Premier League a record 19 times, but their recent performances have been lackluster, with their defense being a particular concern.

Bayisenge’s experience and skillset could prove to be a valuable asset to the team as they seek to re-establish their dominance in the Kenyan Premier League.

However, Bayisenge will not be available for selection in Gor Mahia’s upcoming match against Sofapaka FC on February 27th, as the club is still working to clear its FIFA transfer embargo.

Nevertheless, fans of the club will be eagerly anticipating the defender’s debut in the Kenyan Premier League and hoping that he can help the team return to winning ways.
