Gor Mahia’s winning streak at risk as they take on fierce Mathare United

Gor Mahia has the opportunity to increase their lead in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League by seven points if they can secure a victory against Mathare United on Wednesday at Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.

Gor Mahia currently sits at the top of the league table with 37 points from 16 matches, having only lost once in their season. The team has only conceded seven goals, the fewest in the division.

Mathare United will have their work cut out for them as they have not beaten Gor Mahia in their last eight matches. The last time Gor Mahia lost against Mathare United was on October 14, 2017.

Gor Mahia is expected to be led by striker Benson Omala, who has scored 16 goals so far this season, including two hat-tricks. Mathare United will be looking to their striker Donald Ange, who has seven goals to his name, and midfielder Daniel Otieno, who has four goals.

The other two rescheduled matches taking place on Wednesday will see Wazito, who are threatened by relegation, host Kariobangi Sharks at Muhoroni Stadium in Kisumu, while FC Talanta hosts bottom-placed Vihiga Bullets at Kasarani Annex.
