Kenya won bronze and silver medals after Michael Githae and Margaret Muriuki Wangare finished in third and second positions in the men’s and women’s marathons respectively at the Commonwealth games in Birmigham, UK.
Michael Githae finished the race in 2.13;22 to finish third in a race won by Uganda’s Victor Kiplangat who clocked 2.10:55 as Tanzania’s Simbu Alphonce settled for Silver crossing the finish line in 2.12:31.
