Full minutes for Anyembe as Viborg pick first win of the season

Kenyan international Daniel Anyembe clocked full minutes as his side Viborg FF bounced back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Odense BK in a Danish league match on Monday night.

Prior to the game,Viborg had not won a league match in the new campaign after two rounds, drawing once and losing the other to place at the bottom of the log.

The 25-year-old Kenya defender has played every minute in each of the three league matches, but he is yet to help his team keep a clean sheet as they have let in seven goals in those three matches.

Last season, he played a total of 23 league games for Viborg, featuring the entire length of the match in 17 of them and being named on the starting team in 21.

Against Odense, Anosike Ementa opened the scoring in the 28th minute to see Viborg head into the break with a slim advantage but Bashkim Kadrii levelled matters with 18 minutes left to play on the clock.

However, Nigel Thomas ensured Viborg picked maximum points on the road with his strike eight minutes later to make it 2-1 as they went on to hold to the lead to the final whistle.

With the win, Viborg moved to seventh on the log with four points, five behind leaders Nordsjælland who are yet to lose a game in the new campaign alongside Copenhagen.

Up next for Anyembe and Viborg is a league match at home against Hvidovre who are second last on the log with just one point.
