Sports commentator Fred Arocho has openly shared why he has no intention of parting ways with the sports betting firm, Odibets, where he serves as their brand ambassador.
Following the unfortunate incident of his phone being stolen, Arocho expressed his gratitude to Odibets after they surprised him with a new Samsung Flip 5 valued at over Sh 300,000. ]
Speaking about the gesture, the Radio 47 sports host commended Odibets for their swift action and support during his time of need.
“Thanks to Odibets, you know, finding someone who cares about you in your line of work is rare. This phone is not cheap, and the fact that the company willingly provided it shows how much they value you. That’s why I’ve never considered leaving Odibets because this brand takes care of me, and when someone stands by you, you also stand by them,” Arocho expressed.
Recalling the incident at the Mambo Leo Stadium in Kisumu during the Safaricom Chapaa Dimba tournament, Arocho recounted how his phone was stolen while he was conducting a live link for his TV show.
Amidst the excitement of the tournament, he had placed his phone in his pocket for safekeeping, only to realize it was missing moments later.
“We were at the tournament, and a team had scored. I was doing a live link for my TV show. As I was celebrating, and I had been signaled that I would be on air soon, I put my phone in my pocket and zipped it up. Suddenly, I felt its absence. I didn’t even get to do the link because I was so disappointed. The phone had everything, including money,” Arocho explained.
Despite the setback, Arocho remains hopeful that the culprits will be apprehended, as efforts are underway to track down the stolen phone.
He mentioned that the lost phone was a Samsung Flip 4, which he had acquired for Sh 210,000.
