Deputy President William Ruto was on Thursday heckled by a section of crowd while addressing a political rally in Narok County.

The deputy president was speaking at Sogoo Secondary School in Narok South when the group in the crowd started shouting after he told them to acquire national identification cards (IDs) and register as voters.

The DP however managed to calm the crowd and assumed the role of MC at the event. He invited area leaders, many of whom were heckled.

The residents complained that local administration officers were demanding bribes of Sh. 300 in order to release identification cards.

DP Ruto ordered for investigations into the matter. He further pledged that the Mulo-Sogoo and the Lulunga-Sogoo-Olmekenyu roads will be tarmacked within the next twelve months.
