Catherine Igathe is a seasoned Kenyan technocrat with over 24 years of experience, the majority of which has been spent at the helm of important local and international enterprises.
She is married to Polycarp Igathe, a former Nairobi gubernatorial contender and notable business executive, and together they have three children – a boy and two girls.
Catherine graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration from the United States International University.
She has also completed various executive management and leadership programmes, including the Advanced Management Programme at Strathmore Business School, Lagos Business School, IESE Business School (Spain), and Gordon Institute of Business Science – University of Pretoria, South Africa.

Throughout her career, Catherine has worked for some of the country’s biggest insurance businesses, including AIG Kenya, which she joined in 2002.
She worked at AIG for 17 years in a variety of capacities, culminating in her promotion as Managing Director in 2015.
Catherine led the organisation for four years before joining Jubilee General Insurance Company in 2019 as Chief Executive Officer.
She worked for Jubilee General Insurance Company until 2021, when she quit.
Catherine is currently the Managing Director and Founder of Ortus Solutions Group, a consultancy focused on leadership, strategy and governance.
She is also a board member for Centum Investment Company Ltd and Genafrica Asset Managers.
