Breaking: Joash Onyango to leave Simba, set to join FKF-PL side

Simba SC defender Joash Onyango is poised to part ways with the Tanzanian-based club at the end of the current season.

Reports suggest that the talented defender has submitted a transfer request following a period of frustration.

Since joining Simba, the ex-Gor Mahia defender has been a consistent presence in the heart of the team’s defense. However, he has faced criticism due to errors he committed, which resulted in goals for the opposing teams.

Amidst rumors of his departure from Simba, insiders close to the player have disclosed that there is a possibility of him joining record-holding champions, Gor Mahia.

However, these sources have refrained from providing specific details regarding the exact nature of this potential move.

According to Mwanaspoti, head coach Roberto ‘Robertinho’ Oliveira, following Simba’s failure to secure the Tanzanian Mainland Premier League title, has expressed his desire to bring in 11 new players for the upcoming season.

Robertinho has already begun planning for the future, outlining in his transfer wishlist to the club’s management why he believes an overhaul of the squad is necessary, along with the need to sign these 11 new players.

As Simba is not currently competing for any titles this season, having been eliminated from the Azam Federation Cup and failing to advance in the CAF competitions, the technical bench of the club has reportedly identified potential recruits.

This includes a defender and a defensive midfielder from Azam FC, as well as a goalkeeper from Vipers SC, which has put Onayngo’s position in jeopardy.
