The kick-off of the 2023 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup have been postponed after tournament landed a sponsor.

The tournament which was initially meant to kick off on February 11th-12th, 2023 has been moved to the weekend of March 3rd-4th, 2023.

“We are pleased to inform you that the federation has been able to secure a sponsor for the 2023 FKF Cup. In this regard to enable the federation and the cup sponsor plan accordingly, the federation has made a decision to postpone the FKF Cup round of 32 fixtures scheduled to have been played on February 11th-12th, 2023 to March 3rd-4th, 2023 as per our initial communication on the tournament’s dates,” read a communication from the FKF Head of Leagues and Competitions Doreen Nabwire to clubs.

The new sponsor will replace betting firm Betway which sponsored the tournament for two years in 2020 and 2021 before parting ways.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup defending champions Gor Mahia will begin their title defence against Kibera Soccer as the tournament’s runners up AFC Leopards face Zetech University Titans in the round of 32.
