The Judicial Service Commission is set to auction 40 vehicles that have been rusting away in the judiciary parking lot at Milimani law courts.

The reserved prices of the vehicles, mainly Mercedes Benz and Peugeots, ranges from 25,000 to 455,000. The vehicles included 27 Mercedes Benz cars, six Peugeot 406s, four Peugeot 504s, two Land Rovers and a Nissan X-Trail.

These are the rules potential buyers need to follow:

1). You can only view the vehicles from September 29 to October 12from 9am to 5pm.

2). The vehicles will be sold as-is-where-is-basis.

3). Bidders must pay Sh. 1,000 non-refundable fee to the Judiciary of Kenya KCB Account No. 1116928477 Moi Avenue Branch. They should then present the deposit slip to the traffic offences registry at the Milimani Law Courts to receive the catalogue of the vehicles.

4). Bidders will have to pay a refundable cash fee of Sh. 10,000 on the auction date which will also serve as their ticket or entry pass. Payments of this fee will start at 8am on the auction day.

5). The successful bidders must pay 25 per cent of the vehicle’s price on the auction day and pay the remaining 75 per cent within fourteen days. Failure to pay 25 per cent will see them forfeit the vehicle which will be disposed at the discretion of the Judiciary.

6). Unsuccessful bidders will be refunded the sh. 10,000 immediately after the auction.

7). Success bidders Sh. 10,000 cash price will be part of the total amount they’ll pay for the vehicle. If the vehicle is Sh. 100,000, they’ll pay Sh.100,000-Sh. 10,000.

8). The purchased vehicles must be collected from the Judiciary parking bay within seven days or they be disposed at the discretion of the Judiciary.

9). The successful bidder will pay all costs, duties and taxes applicable to the transfer of the vehicle ownership.

10). All payments are to be made through cash or bankers cheque to the Judiciary.
