Yesterday, the government gazetted two days as holidays. These are Wednesday (today) and Thursday (tomorrow). The two days were declared as holidays in order to afford Kenyans time off to prepare for the repeat presidential election which had been scheduled for Thursday.

As it is wont to happen on any public holiday, Kenyan banks will not be open for business in these two days. This may have left millions of Kenyans seeking to access banking services stranded.

Well, take a deep sigh if you are one of those regretting that you will only be able to access banking services on Friday. This is because you don’t need the traditional bank branch that is now closed for the two holidays in order to bank.

Through its network of over 8,500 banking agents, Co-operative Bank is ensuring that you continue to access all banking services at your nearest Co-op Kwa Jirani agency.

You are likely to find a Co-op Bank agent right at your town centre or village market.

Some o the services you will be able to access at Co-op Kwa Jirani agents include, deposit and withdrawals, payments of utility bills such as water bills, Kenya Power bills, KRA services.

If you deposit money through the Co-op Kwa Jirani agents, your funds will immediately start to reflect on your Co-operative Bank account.

Interestingly, you will be able to withdraw up to Sh. 100,000 per day at the Co-op’s agents using your mobile phone, if you have registered for M-Coop Cash. If you have not registered for -Coop Cash, you will need your ATM card, which you will use to withdraw from the agent’s point of sale machine.

In any case, though, you are not required to show your secret pin when making any transaction.

Why worry then?! Just walk to the nearest Co-op Kwa Jirani agent in your estate, town or supermarket
