Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has held talks with Lyon over a move for striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to The Sun.

The veteran coach was in France this week with chief executive Ivan Gazidis to meet Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas, hoping to agree a fee for the France international.

And the Gunners are hopeful a contract worth £200,000 per week will tempt Lacazette to move to north London.

Arsenal are expected to spend big next season with the club handing Arsene Wenger a £150 million budget, according to the Daily Star .

Despite leading the Gunners to a disappointing fifth-place finish and missing out on the Champions League, the French coach was handed a new deal by the club and will be given a huge transfer war chest in order to restore the club to its former glory.

Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe is said to be a target for the North London club, while Leicester star Riyad Mahrez is also on the radar.

However, both Manchester United and Real Madrid have joined the hunt for Mbappe with Man Utd being the latest club to table an offer.
