  • It appears the spirit of the handshake has come through this season, not only in politics but in the world of spirituality and religion.

In a video shared by Daily Nation on Thursday, December 5, 2019, one self-proclaimed prophet, Stephen Thuranira, challenged Prophet David Owuor to peacefully surrender his position and hand it over to him in the spirit of the handshake.

Stephen claimed that he was the modern version of Prophet Elijah and continued to share a few of his own prophecies.

He alleged to have been chosen by God and Prophet Owuor should take a back seat.

Owuor who leads the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness has been one of the most popular religious leaders in the country.

His audience is completely devoted to him and attracts masses to the tune of millions.

After the video was posted online, it attracted over 1,000 comments from netizens in under three hours.

Robert Constant Ayekha warned that Stephen could be joking with a man of God and would be severely punished. “How do you want your lightning served, boiled or fried?!” he commented.

Alfred Lagat suggested that Siaya Senator James Orengo was better at making predictions, referring to his statement in 2017 that the government would turn against some of its proponents.

“Sometimes revolutions eat their own children, governments eat their own people, and this government is going to punish you more than they will punish me. I’m telling you, in another year, you will be crying in my office for me to come and represent you. I know, I can tell,” Orengo stated back then.

“The only prophet to replace Owuor should be prophet Orengo. His prophecy came to pass na kina murkomen wanahangaika,” Alfred Lagat.
