Reports of hunger hit the headlines from North rift and Eastern part of the country. Heartbreaking pictures of staving Kenyan went viral on social media despite government denial that no person has succumbed to hunger. However reports from local leaders in Baringo and Turkana counties indicated that a number of casualties had been recorded.

With the government denial, Kenya red cross made a financial appeal of Sh 800 Million to Kenyans of good faith to aid relief mission in the mostly affected counties. 

Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko through his Sonko rescue team. Made offered food relief worth of millions to Counties of Turkana and West Pokot. 

Most celebrated musician Akothee famously known as the Boss lady was in Turkana county to affirm people of Turkana of her support courtesy of Silverstone air. Madam boss distributed relief food to residents of Turkana county.

The counties that have been affected by hanger according to red cross stands at 19 Turkana, Baringo, and West Pokot with a number of casualties.

President Kenyatta this week shocked Kenyans on twitter after he tweeted a warning to senior government official who have been implicated in corruption scandals. In his tween the president said;

“If you are corrupt we will fight you. You can be my sister my brother or my closest political ally but if you are corrupt we will fight you. I won’t be clouded by ethnicity or status in my quest to leave behind a united nation and I will continue championing for Kenyan’s unity”. End of the tweet. 

The president’s social media handlers have since been sacked for allowing access to the president official social media accounts.

In Wajir county Gatundu South member of parliament Moses Kuria shared the podium with Odm leader Raila Odinga and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, others present were Suna East member of parliament Junet Mohammed Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala,  and local leaders. 

They had attended Hon. Fatima Gedi the Wajir women representative in Wajir fund raising for development project in the county. They called on leaders to stop critics on individual heading institutes that are fighting corruption.

In Bungoma the county government will sponsor a 6.5 Km dual carriage road from Musikoma to Kanduyi at a cost of Sh 1.5 Billion. Speaking during ground breaking this week Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati said the road will decongest the town and allow easy movement of motorist in town.
