NASA: No elections on Oct. 17 if we don’t get our way

The opposition coalition NASA has said that Kenya will not have any elections on October 17 unless their demands are met.

Speaking on Wednesday morning, the NASA principals said that they will not boycott the elections but will instead ensure that there are no elections whatsoever.

“Nasa wishes to inform Kenyans that there will be no polls if concerns raised in our petition are not met,” Nasa co-principal and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula said. He spoke during the meeting of opposition parliamentarians at the Okoa Kenya offices.

Among the demands by Nasa is the sacking if IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba, prosecution of some of the commissions senior employees and access to its servers.

“We have read part of the Supreme Court judgment. We have been able to identify culprits and instructed our legal team to institute prosecution against them as DPP is reluctant to prosecute,” he added.
