A 13 year old boy stabbed an 11-year-old girl to death in Magumu village in Kinangop, Nyandarua County .
According to the girl’s mother Pauline Njeri, the duo had proceeded to a nearby shop to buy sweets when the incident occurred at around 730pm Wednesday evening.
The boy stabbed the girl after she turned his request to be his girlfriend seven times.
The two children were schoolmates at Githinji Primary School in Kinangop while their parents have been close friends for years.
Speaking at the girl’s home, NACADA chairman John Mututho blamed exposure to crime through illict brews and the proliferation of violence on the internet as possible sources of information for the child. The boy has since been arrested.
