DP Ruto purchases city hotel at a whopping sh 3 billion

It now appears that the deputy president William Ruto has successfully purchased the iconic Sixeighty Hotel at sh 3 billion.

In February, a team believed to have been sent by Ruto was spotted inspecting the city facility late in the evening. The patrons at the said hotel which is located within the Nairobi CBD suspected the team may have been sent purposely to recommend possible renovations, should the deal go through.

Sixeighty Hotel offers wide range of services that also include a casino, a gift shop and a lounge with regular live music, plus BBQs. Guests have complimentary access to the pool and tennis court at a sister hotel.

The 680 (sometimes written as “Sixeighty”) Hotel has been under the sole management of Sentrim Hotels, offers accommodations in the heart of Nairobi.

The 10-storey hotel houses 253 standard, deluxe and budget rooms.

This latest acquisition confirms Rutos appetite and growing interest in the hospitality industry having built Weston and Easton hotels in 2014.It is also rumored in the corridors of power that the former chicken vendor from Eldoret North bought ultra-modern hotel at the coast of Seychelles recently.
