Brazilian giants’ mind-blowing offer to secure Olunga from Al Duhail

Kenyan striker Michael Olunga has become a subject of intense speculation as his current contract with Al Duhail in Qatar approaches its expiry date.

Brazilian giants SC Corinthians have emerged as serious contenders in the race for his signature, offering a tempting annual wage of approximately Sh55,443,000.

Breaking News: Michael Olunga set to leave Al Duhail, poised to join European Club

Olunga’s impressive performances over the past two seasons have earned him consecutive Qatari Stars League Golden Boot awards, as well as the coveted AFC Champions League Golden Boot in the 2021-2022 season.

His goal-scoring prowess has caught the attention of clubs worldwide, with Turkish giants Galatasaray also reportedly entering talks for a possible move to the Super Lig.

“With his current contract valid until June 30, 2023, in the Stars League, Olunga would be willing to transfer to Corinthians if the salary proposal of 2 million reais is accepted.

“This value is considered high by the standards of Brazilian football but the Sao Paulo club would be analyzing the possibility of bringing the player to reinforce its attack,” read Eusoutimao’s article.

Despite Corinthians’ interest, Olunga’s current monthly salary of Sh80 million at Al Duhail dwarfs their proposed wage.

However, the Brazilian club sees Olunga as the ideal candidate to lead their struggling forward line.

The salary offered by Corinthians, although lower than Olunga’s current earnings, would still position him as one of the highest-paid players in the Brazilian league, second only to Palmeiras midfielder Dudu.
