Why I Cheated On My Husband With a Colleague, City Woman Tells It All

First came cougars, Ben 10 and finally sponsors. Now, there is a new breed who has earned the titled married but available (MBA).

It seems like this new status in the dating scene is affecting both men and women.

The  MBAs – Married But Available – are oblivious of the dangers they are exposing themselves to.

No longer is the dating scene filled with unattached men and women looking for a good time and potential spouses.

It is now occupied by attached spouses, many who have no plans of divorcing their partner.

Experts say while women just like men cheat for romance and sexual satisfaction, they also do it to feel special and adored.

Syaviha Mulengya, counsellor and promoter of peace in marriage says,

“WOMEN ALSO GET LOST IN THE BOREDOM AND MONOTONY OF MARRIAGE. SO, THEY LOOK FOR A PRINCE CHARMING WHO MAKES THEM FEEL LIKE A BEAUTIFUL PRINCESS AND CAN MAKE THEM FEEL APPRECIATED AGAIN.”

Elizabeth says,

“FROM THE DAY I MARRIED MY HUSBAND, I KNEW IT WAS A MISTAKE.

HE WAS ABUSIVE, CONTROLLING AND EXPECTED ME TO QUIT MY JOB TO MAKE A HOME FOR HIM.

A LITTLE OVER A YEAR INTO THE MARRIAGE, ELIZABETH BEGAN HAVING AN AFFAIR WITH A COLLEAGUE.

IT WAS EYE-OPENING TO BE WITH SOMEONE WHO MADE ME FEEL GOOD ABOUT MYSELF, MADE ME LAUGH AND RESPECTED ME FOR WHO I WAS—NOT WHO HE WANTED ME TO BE.”

While others do it to feel good others cheat to get back at their partners who have at one point or another hurt them.

“I CHEATED ON HIM—MOSTLY FOR REVENGE, BUT IN RETROSPECT IT WAS ALSO BECAUSE I WANTED VALIDATION.

I WANTED TO KNOW THAT I WAS STILL DESIRABLE TO OTHER MEN,” SAID JANE
