Late Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore’s wife Wambui Kamiru Collymore has spoken for the first time.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Wambui said that she was grateful for the love she has received as she grieves for her husband.
She went on to say that the love messages demonstrate the true character of the man she fell in love with, as she thanked them all.
“I am overwhelmed by all the love and beautiful messages I have been receiving from you all here. It is a true testament to the character of the special man I was lucky to love. I can’t respond to all your messages but know that I have read and received your warmth. Thank you,” she wrote.

Bob Collymore passed on, on Monday at his home in Nairobi after long battle with Acute Myloid Leukemia (AML)
In a statement sent to newsrooms Safaricom chairman Nicholas Nganga said that Collymore’s condition worsened in recent weeks.
The body of the former Safaricom CEO was cremated at a private event in Nairobi on Tuesday where only family and very close friends were invited.
A memorial service for Bob will be held on Thursday at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi and in honor of the former Safaricom CEO, all Safaricom shops will remain closed from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
“As a mark of respect for our cherished leader, Safaricom shall be closing all our shops countrywide on Thursday 4th July 2019 between the hours of 10.30am and 2.30pm,” read a statement from the Telecommunications Company.
