‘Uwanja wake ni matope; he’s backward and petty,’ Uhuru attacks Raila at Bomas

President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again thrown jabs at CORD leader Raila Odinga.

In his address at the Bomas of Kenya during the inaugural Jubilee Party’s national committee assembly, Uhuru said that Jubilee had taken development to Bondo where Raila comes from, something he had failed to do while serving as prime minister. According to popular site Tuko, President Uhuru said:

“Na kule Bondo kwa mtu mwingine.. kwasababu tunapenda watu wa Bondo. Tulipeleka stima kwa watu ambao kwa miaka mingi walikua wanapikia kwa mlango yake na kupita kwake na kuona stima kwa nyumba yake pekee… Saa hizi wanaweza hata kuvuta maji na stima jameni”

Additionally, according to the Star Newspaper, the president added: “You must understand a man and his thinking of his backwardness and pettiness… pettiness… pettiness… He thrives on division of Kenyans and poverty. Uwanja wake ni wa matope (His field is muddy). We will not divert from our objectives.”

Uhuru further dismissed CORD’s criticism of corruption in the government saying the opposition is only looking for sympathy votes.

He has no plan for Kenyans, he only seeks to make Kenyans angry and thrives in division and poverty,” said Uhuru.
