President Uhuru Kenyatta has been sworn in for his second term in office.

President Uhuru was sworn in y the chief registrar in the presence of Chief Justice David Maraga.

He was sworn into office after the Supreme Court upheld dismissed two petitions that had been filed to invalidate the October 26 repeat poll.

The swearing in was followed y a 21 gun salute in honour of the president.

Rousing applause filled the venue when Uhuru and Margaret arrived at exactly 11:51 am, after a ride manned by officers in helicopters.

Ruto and his wife Rachel arrive at 11.17 am to a full stadium and were welcomed with cheers.

The presidential election this year dragged on for four months.
