Uhuru Sneaks Back In The Country Quietly

President Uhuru Kenyatta has jetted back to the country.

A report by The Standard indicated that the Head of State quietly jetted in on the evening of Monday, October 5, after making a stopover in Egypt.

While in the North African country, the Head of State took some time off to visit the great pyramids of Giza before his return.

Uhuru redirected his flight to Egypt on Sunday, October 4, when he was expected to jet back into the country after his four-day trip to Paris, France, where he signed three bilateral agreements.

Uhuru paid a courtesy call to Egyptian President Fattah Al-Sisi with their meeting focused on security and Covid-19 response.

His arrival comes at a time when Jubilee Party is confronted with high tensions with calls to kick out Deputy President William Ruto heating up.

Uhuru had his first itinerary spelled out which included dealing with the deputy who was reportedly sabotaging the party.

In the meeting, Uhuru was expected to receive a comprehensive political brief from his lieutenants when he chairs the National Security Advisory Committee (NSAC).

The Head of State’s confidants had reportedly developed four elaborate ways on how to contain Ruto, all of which were to be presented to the president.

They included the DP being kicked out of the party, being banned from setting foot at the Jubilee headquarters in Pangani, having the budget to his office slashed and an impeachment motion being initiated to have him ejected from government.

President Uhuru chairs the National Executive Committee (NEC) that was challenged to eject Ruto as Deputy Party Leader.

The fallout came after Ruto was accused of attempting to grab the party in the absence of the President.

The meeting was supposed to take place on Monday, October 5, but it is still not clear when it was rescheduled to.

Jubilee Vice-chair David Murathe, on Monday, announced that Jubilee Party Headquarters had been closed for a period of one week for fumigation.
