Tusker FC receives huge boost ahead of Gor clash

Tusker FC has received a significant boost ahead of their crucial clash against Gor Mahia as defender Boniface “Kajos” Onyango returned to full training.

The 23-year-old has been sidelined since January after undergoing knee surgery, but his gradual recovery has finally reached a promising stage.

Kajos’ absence has been felt in Tusker’s last 21 games across all competitions, leaving a defensive burden on players like Daniel Sakari, Kevin Monyi, and Levin Odhiambo.

Over the past few weeks, Kajos has diligently worked on rebuilding his fitness at the Ruaraka Sports Club, engaging in individual training sessions and gradually increasing his workload.

While it remains to be seen if Kajos will be considered for immediate selection, Tusker manager Robert Matano is taking a cautious approach, gradually reintegrating the defender into team sessions. With the team adopting a patient approach to his recovery, it is plausible that Kajos could make his first-team return before the conclusion of the season.

Kajos’ injury setback occurred during his last assignment for the Brewers, where he suffered ligament damage in a match against Police FC on January 28. Since then, he has undergone surgery and focused on his rehabilitation, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to don the yellow and black jersey once again.

Tusker FC currently sits atop the FKF Premier League standings with 64 points from 30 matches played this season.
