Trio Mio collaborates with American Rapper Wiz Khalifa on new song

Kenya’s rising Gengetone artiste, Trio Mio, has made a significant international leap, collaborating with American rap sensation Wiz Khalifa in their latest track, “Same Block.”

The 18-year-old artiste announced the news to his fans, revealing that the much-anticipated song is now available across various digital music platforms.

“Young, gifted, and making moves! 🌟 dropped a banger with none other than @wizkhalifa and @moeazy 🎤🎶 ‘Same Block’ is out now on all digital sound platforms. This is your reminder that dreams know no age – chase them relentlessly! 🚀💪 #SameBlock,” Trio Mio shared.

The song that was released two days ago features two other artistes; Anweezy and Moeazy

The news of Trio working with Wiz Khalifa was first announced by Boomplay’s manager of artistes relations Jinx.

“In my opinion, collaborations are crucial to creative development. As an example of how working with well-known musicians may boost a young artist’s profile. It’s also important to develop the sound further,” Jinx stated.

“Indeed, the collaboration with Wiz Khalifa is a major step in the young rapper’s career with the possible music project expected to hit the airwaves in August,” Jinx added.

Trio Mio’s rise to fame

The rapper kicked off his music journey in 2019 by dropping his debut track ‘Vile Inafaa’/Bazeng, produced by JB.

His breakthrough came in 2020 with the release of ‘Cheza kama wewe,’ which quickly dominated the Kenyan music scene.

The song gained even more traction after he collaborated on a remix with Mejja, Exray, and Nellythegoon.

At just 18 years old, the young rapper has been consistently delivering chart-topping hits such as ‘Cheza kama wewe,’ ‘Vumilia,’ and ‘Bazenga-vile inafaa.
