In a move aimed at decentralizing specialized healthcare and enhancing access for the upper Karen and surrounding communities, M.P. Shah Hospital officially launched The Hub Medical Centre today. Located at The Hub Mall, Karen, this new facility represents a significant step in the hospital’s mission to provide “world-class medicine with a personal touch.”
The introductory launch event, held on Monday, 22nd June 2026, was presided over by the hospital’s leadership and marks the beginning of operations at the centre. This introduction of services is scheduled to be followed by an official grand opening in July 2026. The Hub Medical Centre is designed to serve as a comprehensive, one-stop health destination, ensuring that high-quality medical care is accessible without the need for long commutes.
Strategic Location: Why Karen?
The choice of Karen as the location for this new centre was driven by the area’s growing population, increasing demand for quality healthcare, and the need to bridge the gap between residential communities and hospital-based services. Karen and its environs are home to a diverse demographic – from young families to a growing senior population – making it an ideal setting for a facility that offers holistic care across all life stages. The Hub Mall, as a central and accessible landmark, further enhances convenience for patients seeking timely medical attention.
Expanding Access and Universal Healthcare
In remarks delivered during the launch, the leadership emphasized the centre’s role in advancing healthcare accessibility. The facility is positioned as a vital addition to the community, aligning with the principles of universal health coverage by bringing essential and specialized services closer to the people.
“The Hub Medical Centre is a testament to our commitment to the community,” said Dr. Manoj Shah, Chairman of the Board, M.P. Shah Hospital. “We are not just building a clinic; we are creating a healthcare ecosystem that prioritizes convenience and comprehensive care. This is about ensuring that families in Karen and its environs have immediate access to the healthcare they deserve, all under one roof.”
A Holistic Approach to Community Health
The Centre is equipped to handle the healthcare needs of every generation. Services offered include Family Medicine, Paediatrics, and Obstetrics & Gynaecology. In a strategic move to address the growing needs of the aging population in the Karen area, the Centre will also focus on comprehensive care for older adults, ensuring that no member of the community is left behind.

By bringing specialist consultations, diagnostics, pharmacy and preventive services closer to where people live and work, we are improving convenience while maintaining the quality standards associated with M.P. Shah Hospital,” added Dr. Toseef Din, Chief Executive Officer, M.P. Shah Hospital. “We look forward to the official opening in July and continuing to serve this community.”
“Our vision has always been to make The Hub more than a retail destination by bringing essential services closer to the community. Health and wellness are central to that vision, and partnering with M.P. Shah Hospital enables us to provide trusted, accessible healthcare in a safe and convenient environment while creating a more holistic destination for the Karen community,” said Jacobus Visser, Mall Manager, The Hub Karen.
Commitment to Excellence: JCI Standards
In line with M.P. Shah Hospital’s unwavering dedication to quality, The Hub Medical Centre operates under the rigorous standards set by the Joint Commission International (JCI). This commitment ensures that every patient receives safe, effective, and evidence-based care, consistent with the hospital’s reputation as a leader in healthcare delivery in Kenya.
