Tension high in Muhoroni as Gor, Wazito die-hards almost engage in fist first ahead of afternoon clash

Tensions are mounting ahead of the upcoming match between Wazito and Gor Mahia in Muhoroni, as a video circulating on social media shows an alleged Gor Mahia official engaged in a confrontation with members of the Wazito team.

In the video, a police officer holding an AK47 rifle intervenes to prevent the situation from escalating further.

This incident comes just days after Gor Mahia petitioned the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) for information on the security protocols in place for the match scheduled to take place on Sunday at Muhoroni Stadium in Kisumu.

Gor Mahia CEO Raymond Oruo expressed his concerns about the security of his team at the stadium, which is commonly known as Got Alila.

He stated that they have to be assured of their safety, given the high-risk nature of the fixture. Several other topflight clubs, including AFC Leopards and Bandari, have also complained about poor officiating and raised concerns about intimidation of referees and visiting teams while playing in Muhoroni.

Wazito previously beat AFC Leopards 2-1 at the same venue on January 14, a game that Belgium coach Patrick Aussems criticized for poor officiating.

Bandari also lodged an official complaint with the FKF after drawing 2-2 with Wazito at the same venue on February 18, accusing the club chairman Moses Adagala of harassment.

While Wazito fights to avoid relegation, Gor Mahia is hoping to reclaim the league title from Tusker.

With tensions running high, Gor Mahia is calling on the FKF to ensure that all necessary security protocols are in place to protect the players and fans.
