A census official turned up at a resident’s house in Mukuyu, Muran’ga, intoxicated and ended up urinating in the family’s living room on the night of Thursday, August 29.

As the children and family members watched, the man pulled down his pair of trousers and started urinating.

The official, who has since been arrested, was allegedly staggering and acted in a disorderly manner when he entered the house.

According to the Daily Nation, the official did not have census gadgets when the incident occurred.

Murang’a East Police Boss Alex Musyia stated that the owner of the house informed his neighbours and the police of what had happened.

“The census official was taken to Murang’a Hospital where he was stabilized,” Musyia stated.

The police boss added that the census materials were retrieved from the enumerator’s girlfriend’s house.

“We are verifying whether the gadgets have been tampered with,” he concluded.
