Vitalis Kiplagat, alias Senge Helena, was born in 1999 as the second child in a family of four, three boys and one daughter.
His father was a teacher with harsh discipline. He attended numerous basic schools before starting high school.
After performing poorly in his KCSE in 2017, Senge Helena repeated form four in 2018.
He took part in a science fair in high school and created a mosquito repellent candle.
Senge Helena revisited this project, and it received widespread attention and was aired on Citizen Television.
This exposed him to a large number of people, and he received calls from various persons, including former Tourism CS Najib Balala.
He was also engaged at the Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI) in South C.
Senge Helena’s passion of comedy has been present since high school, but many perceived him as wicked rather than hilarious.

While in Nairobi, he met several comedians and developed a passion for comedy.
Senge Helena even started filming videos, and fellow comedian Wambilianga gave him the moniker Helena, which he added Senge to the title.
He wanted something distinctive and genuine to his identity, and because few people were depicting aunts, he went with it.
The character was inspired by witnessing how neighbors in his hometown interacted and behaved.
Senge Helena began comedy in 2020, which was easier at the time because they could work from home while still obtaining a salary.
However, after completely resuming work, he recognized humor was what he desired and resigned his job.
Initially, his father opposed the idea and would punish him, but he stayed firm. He now performs in several ceremonies and has a large social media following.
